Located far inland, and at the half way mark between Melbourne and Sydney, it is hard to understand why bright Victoria doesn’t seem to receive any mention in any of the top ten tourist destinations in Australia. As much as this may be a shame, the quiet popularity of this district really does tend to speak for itself, pleasing all visitor types and age brackets with a ton of activities available that are on the to-do list of many people in Australia.
Bright Victoria truly is a place to be seen, boasting a very solid history, it is a great destination for young and old, offering an “off the standard track” kind of holiday destination In fact, to see Bright Victoria is to see a completely different side of Australia, and what it has to offer.
For those holiday makers that like to create their own adventure, Bright is the place to be. The area boasts so many different options where to stay, what to eat, where to go, and you are completely free to choose and model your own adventure when you see Bright Victoria. This is the sheer beauty of this place.
Lets not forget Bright accommodation. It doesn’t matter if you are a thrill seeker, a backpacker, or even a couple in search of a romantic weekend away. This truly is one of those places to go if you are after a weekend of pampering, or to enjoy the local produce, which is some of the finest in Australia. Lets not forget the local wine as well, which comes out on my list as some of the best in Australia.
Alternatively, the nature loving family will find a perfect spot at Bright Riverside Holiday Park, aptly named for its location directly alongside the Ovens River. This top notch caravan park offers a great range of accommodation from cabins to deluxe villas. Fish, swim or just enjoy the spectacular view of this heavenly valley and take part in all of the fantastic and differing seasonal activities available.
Of course, you can not forget my personal favorite, roughing it up in one of the nearby National Parks and enjoying the serenity of being by yourself in the bush with no disturbances. Camping is available within 200 meters of any main road at the nearby National Parks, and is an ideal option for those who just want to avoid the hustle and bustle.
The great thing about Bright Victoria is that there is no such thing as enough to do. There is so much to do that it is sometimes hard to pick! The Ovens River provides a haven for any aquatic adventure, from swimming to kayaking. In the summer months, the Ovens river receives less water due to the damming, which creates a cool swimming environment for all, monitored by lifeguards to make sure that even the little ones are safe. Hiking trails are aplenty for those who like to see the world from above the tree line, and stand on top of the alpine summits of Victorias highest peaks. There truly is no limit to how fun Bright is!.
Of course, we can not forget those who just love to sit back and relax, and with that in mind, the dining experience in bright Victoria is simply second to none. Boasting the best local produce in Australia, and the restaurants taking clear advantage of their location, whether or not you are eating at a cafe, or five star dining, you are sure to be impressed. Tea, berries, walnuts, hops and barley… all of these make Bright in Victoria truly the place to come and see time and time again. I promise you will not be disappointed.
